Understanding Cost, Coverage and Pricing
Our team will help you explore options that fit your needs while ensuring access to the best possible care, treatments, and financial solutions to make this more accessible.

Navigating the costs of fertility care can feel overwhelming, but not all treatments come with a significant cost. The reality is that while some treatments and assessments may be more expensive, your clinic will only recommend the treatments that apply directly to you.
The first and most important step is understanding your fertility health and identifying the right treatment plan for you.
In Ontario, consultations and most assessments are covered by OHIP, ensuring that these essential first steps are accessible without significant costs.
Many patients don’t require IVF, which is often the biggest financial concern. We’ll help you explore your options and understand the costs upfront, ensuring you have clarity on what’s needed.
Ontario Fertility Program
Generation Fertility is proud to be among the select clinics chosen by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to provide government-funded fertility treatments through the Ontario Fertility Program.
To qualify for government-funded fertility treatments, you must:
Live in Ontario
Have a valid Ontario health card
The program supports individuals and couples facing medical and non-medical infertility, including those who require a donor or surrogate. It is accessible to all, regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, or family status.
Funded treatments include:
Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
In vitro fertilization (IVF)
Fertility preservation (for medical conditions that could affect future fertility)
Availability of funded treatments is limited, so we encourage you to speak with our team to understand your options.
Latest Update: On October 24, 2024, the Government of Ontario announced new investments in the Ontario Fertility Program, along with a new tax credit to expand access to publicly funded fertility treatments, including IVF.
Please refer to the Ontario government website to learn more about expanded fertility funding for IVF.
Ontario Tax Credits
Ontario’s new fertility tax credit provides additional financial support for individuals and families seeking treatment. This credit builds on Ontario’s existing medical expense tax credit, covering up to 25% of eligible expenses (to a maximum of $5,000 per year).
For example, if a privately funded IVF cycle costs $20,000, you may be eligible to receive $5,000 in tax credit support.
Eligible expenses include:
IVF treatments
Fertility medications
Diagnostic testing
Travel for treatment
Grants from Fertility Friends Foundation
Generation Fertility proudly partners with the Fertility Friends Foundation to provide grants that help cover costs related to assisted reproduction, including:
IVF treatments
Egg and sperm donation
Gestational surrogacy
